The problem

Most small business hosting is one bad day from being a disaster.

Cheap shared hosting. Backups that aren't real backups. Domains held hostage at GoDaddy. DNS records nobody understands. Until something breaks, none of it gets attention. By then, recovery is dramatically more expensive than prevention.

Cheap hosting that costs you customers.

$3-a-month shared hosting on overcrowded servers means slow page loads, frequent downtime, and zero security monitoring. The cost shows up later in lost Google rankings, lost conversions, and emergency cleanup bills.

Backups that aren't really backups.

Most hosts say 'daily backups' but store them on the same server as your site. When the server fails or gets compromised, you lose both. Real backups are offsite, automated, versioned, and tested.

Domain registrars that hold you hostage.

GoDaddy, Network Solutions, and similar registrars routinely lose domains to expirations, charge inflated renewal prices, and bury domain transfer settings. Your domain is the most valuable digital asset you own. It deserves a registrar that respects that.

DNS configurations that break email and SEO.

Bad DNS records cause email deliverability problems, SSL errors, broken subdomains, and SEO issues. Most business owners never look at DNS until something breaks. The right setup prevents the breaks in the first place.

Why work with us on hosting

Hosting is infrastructure. We treat it like infrastructure, not a checkbox.

Most web design agencies treat hosting as a billing line item: charge the client, send them to a generic shared host, and walk away. We treat hosting as the actual foundation your business runs on. Server tuning, security hardening, monitoring, and disaster recovery are part of every engagement.

Today we run premium WordPress-optimized hosting infrastructure with Cloudflare for CDN and DDoS, Let's Encrypt and commercial SSL, daily offsite backups with 30-day history, web application firewall protection, and SPF / DKIM / DMARC for email deliverability. All managed by a local team across Berks County, Lancaster County, the Lehigh Valley, and Schuylkill County.

  • 99.9% uptime
  • Daily offsite backups
  • Real security monitoring
The plan

Three steps to hosting that actually works.

Audit, migrate, monitor. Most clients move to us from a cheap shared host or a stale GoDaddy setup. The migration is the hardest part, and we handle it for you.

  1. 1

    Hosting and domain audit.

Call 484-650-3808 or contact us. We audit where your domain is registered, where your site is hosted, what backups exist, and what security gaps exist. Free, no obligation.

  2. 2

    Migration plan and quote.

Clear migration plan: target host, target registrar, DNS cutover schedule, downtime mitigation, and post-migration verification. Fixed-fee quote for the migration plus monthly hosting going forward.

  3. 3

    Migrate, monitor, maintain.

We do the migration on your timeline, verify DNS, SSL, and email after cutover, then monitor and maintain the infrastructure ongoing. You stop thinking about hosting because someone else is.

Hosting and domain services

Everything modern web infrastructure requires.

Managed hosting, domain management, DNS, SSL, backups, security, performance, and email deliverability. All under one roof, all monitored, all maintained.

Managed business website hosting.

High-performance SSD hosting on premium infrastructure. WordPress-tuned servers, free SSL certificates, daily automated backups (offsite + versioned), CDN integration via Cloudflare, server-level caching, and PHP / database tuning. Hosting that prevents problems instead of waiting for them.

Domain registration and management.

Domain registration through trustworthy registrars. Domain transfer assistance from GoDaddy, Network Solutions, or wherever your domain is currently held hostage. WHOIS privacy protection, automated renewal, transfer locks, and domain portfolio management for businesses with multiple properties.

DNS management.

Cloudflare DNS for performance, DDoS protection, and easy management. A, MX, TXT, CNAME, SPF, DKIM, DMARC records configured properly so email deliverability stays high, subdomains work, and SSL certificates issue without errors.

SSL certificates and HTTPS.

Free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates on every site, auto-renewing. For businesses with stricter requirements (e-commerce, healthcare, financial), commercial SSL certificates with extended validation. Plus HTTP/2, HTTP/3, and TLS 1.3 configuration for fast, secure connections.

Daily automated backups.

Daily site and database backups stored offsite, versioned 30 days back, encrypted in transit and at rest. One-click restoration to any backed-up state. Real disaster recovery, not 'we'll get back to you about restoring that.'

Security monitoring and hardening.

Real-time security monitoring, malware scanning (Wordfence, Sucuri), brute-force login protection, IP blocking, web application firewall (WAF) rules, file integrity monitoring, and instant alerts on suspicious activity.

DDoS protection.

Cloudflare Pro or Business with rate limiting, bot management, and DDoS mitigation at network and application layers. Most small businesses don't think they're targets until they are. We assume they are and protect accordingly.

Performance and Core Web Vitals.

Server-level caching, database optimization, image optimization, CDN configuration, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, and ongoing Core Web Vitals monitoring. Hosting that's fast by default, not fast only after the customer figures out what's slow.

Email deliverability configuration.

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records configured properly so your business emails actually reach inboxes instead of spam folders. Plus monitoring of your domain reputation across Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and major B2B mail systems.

Migration from your current host.

Migrate from GoDaddy, Bluehost, HostGator, Network Solutions, SiteGround, or wherever your site is currently hosted. We handle the full migration including DNS cutover, SSL re-issuance, and email deliverability verification. Zero downtime if planned correctly.

By industry

What hosting looks like for businesses like yours.

Different industries have different hosting requirements: HIPAA for healthcare, PCI for e-commerce, deliverability for professional services. Six examples from industries we serve.

Small business websites.

Brochure sites and lead-generation sites for service businesses. Managed WordPress hosting with daily backups, security, and automatic updates. Set it up right and your hosting becomes invisible. Exactly what you want.

WooCommerce and Shopify stores.

E-commerce hosting requires more attention to performance, PCI compliance, payment-gateway IP allowlists, and traffic spikes during sales. We tune hosting and infrastructure for the actual traffic patterns of your store.

Healthcare practices.

HIPAA-aware hosting with appropriate Business Associate Agreements, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, and access controls. Plus secure form handling and document storage for patient information.

Professional services.

Reliable hosting for law firms, accounting practices, and financial advisors. Email deliverability is often the biggest concern. We configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC properly so client communications don't end up in spam.

Multi-site / franchise businesses.

WordPress multisite hosting for franchise networks, multi-location service businesses, and agencies managing many client sites. Centralized management, shared infrastructure costs, individual site customization.

Domain portfolios.

Businesses with 5 to 50+ domains need centralized domain management, automated renewal, and protection against expiration loss. We consolidate domain portfolios at trustworthy registrars and monitor renewal calendars on your behalf.

Infrastructure stack

The infrastructure stack we run for our clients.

Hosting is more than a server. It's a stack of monitored, integrated services that keep your site fast, secure, and recoverable. Some of what we run:

  • Premium WordPress-optimized hosting infrastructure
  • Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, DDoS protection, and bot management
  • Let's Encrypt and commercial SSL certificate management
  • Daily offsite backups with 30-day version history
  • Wordfence and Sucuri for application-layer security
  • Web application firewall (WAF) at network and application levels
  • SPF, DKIM, DMARC for email authentication and deliverability
  • Server-level monitoring (uptime, response time, CPU, disk)
  • PHP, MySQL, and database tuning for WordPress and WooCommerce
  • HTTP/2, HTTP/3, TLS 1.3 for modern fast secure connections
The cost of waiting

Hosting only matters when it fails. By then, you can't fix it fast.

Most businesses don't think about hosting until the site is down on a Saturday morning, the email stops sending right before a launch, or the site gets hacked the day before a big sales weekend. By then, you're trying to recover under pressure with stakes that are way too high.

Managed hosting and proper domain setup cost a fraction of what one bad day costs. Prevention is dramatically cheaper than recovery, and a lot less stressful.

The right time to fix hosting is before you need it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The questions Pennsylvania business owners ask before moving their hosting.

What's managed hosting and why does it cost more than $5 a month?

Managed hosting includes server tuning, automatic security updates, daily offsite backups, real-time security monitoring, malware scanning, free SSL, and CDN integration. Cheap shared hosting at $3 to $10 a month gives you a slot on an overcrowded server with none of those services. Managed hosting at $25 to $100 a month prevents the problems that cheap hosting creates. The math works out heavily in favor of managed hosting once you factor in lost rankings, lost conversions, and emergency cleanup bills.

Should I keep my domain at GoDaddy?

Honestly, no. GoDaddy is a fine registrar for very basic needs, but their domain management UI is cluttered with upsells, their renewal pricing inflates over time, and they bury transfer settings. We recommend transferring to Cloudflare Registrar (at-cost domains) or Namecheap. We handle the transfer for you.

What's the difference between hosting and a domain?

A domain (yourbusiness.com) is the address. Hosting is the actual computer that serves your website. They're separate services that need to point to each other through DNS. You can change your hosting without changing your domain, and vice versa.

Can you move my site without downtime?

Almost always, yes. Proper migration planning includes setting up the new host, copying the site to the new server, testing it on a staging URL, lowering the DNS time-to-live (TTL) before cutover, then making the DNS change at a low-traffic time. With this approach, downtime during cutover is usually under 5 minutes.

What's a CDN and do I need one?

A content delivery network (CDN) caches your site at servers around the world so visitors load it from a server near them instead of one server at your host. Cloudflare's free CDN works for most small business sites. Higher tiers add DDoS protection, bot management, and image optimization. We typically configure Cloudflare on every client site.

What about SSL certificates? Are the free ones good enough?

Yes. Let's Encrypt provides free SSL certificates that are functionally identical to commercial certificates for most purposes. Modern browsers don't distinguish between them. The exception is Extended Validation (EV) certificates, which still display the company name in some contexts and are required by certain industry regulations. For 95% of small business sites, free SSL is plenty.

What is DNS, and why does it keep breaking my email?

DNS (Domain Name System) is what tells the internet how to find your website and email. The most common email problem is missing or wrong SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. These are DNS records that prove your emails are legitimately from you. Without them, Gmail and Outlook are increasingly aggressive about marking your emails as spam. We configure all three properly during setup.

What's a real backup vs a fake backup?

A real backup is offsite (stored on different servers than your site), versioned (multiple historical copies, not just yesterday's), automated (runs every day without intervention), encrypted (in transit and at rest), and tested (someone has actually verified that restoration works). A fake backup is stored on the same server as your site, only the most recent version, and untested. Real backups cost a few dollars a month. Fake backups cost everything when you actually need them.

Do I need DDoS protection? I'm a small business.

Probably yes. Most DDoS attacks aren't targeted attacks against you specifically. They're opportunistic attacks against any unprotected site, often using your site as part of a larger botnet attack on someone else. Cloudflare Pro at $25 a month protects against the vast majority of these. For most small businesses, the answer is to set it up once and forget it exists.

What happens if my host goes down?

On managed hosting with proper monitoring, we get an alert before you do, troubleshoot, and either fix it or escalate to the hosting provider's emergency support. Most issues resolve in minutes. For mission-critical sites, we set up multi-region failover or static fallback pages so customers see something useful even during full outages. For most small businesses, the once-or-twice-a-year 5-minute outage is acceptable. For e-commerce or critical business sites, it's not.

Can I run my own email through your hosting?

We don't recommend it. Hosting-provided email is unreliable, has poor spam filtering, and creates deliverability problems. Use Google Workspace ($6 to $18 per user per month) or Microsoft 365 ($6 to $22 per user per month) for email. We help with setup, DNS configuration (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and migration from your existing email provider.

What if my site gets hacked?

On our managed hosting, real-time security monitoring usually catches attacks before they cause damage. If a site does get compromised, we restore from a clean backup, identify the vulnerability that was exploited, patch it, and harden the site. Total downtime is usually a few hours. Sites without managed hosting and proper backups can take days to recover or never recover at all.

How do I know if my current hosting is bad?

Common signs: page load times over 3 seconds, frequent downtime alerts, no offsite backups, no SSL certificate (or SSL errors), customer reports of broken pages, hosting bills with mysterious add-ons. We do free hosting audits where we measure your actual performance and security and report what we find.

What size businesses do you work with?

From single-site solo operators to multi-site agencies and franchises. Hosting and domain management scales smoothly. The same infrastructure that runs a 1-page brochure site can handle a 500-page enterprise site with proper tier selection.

Are you the right hosting partner near me?

If you're a business in Berks County, Lancaster County, the Lehigh Valley, Schuylkill County, or the greater Philadelphia metro, yes. We're a local hosting and domain partner serving eastern Pennsylvania. Most clients meet with us in person at least once during the engagement.

Get a free hosting audit. No obligation.

We'll audit your current hosting, domain registrar, DNS, SSL, backups, and security. You'll see exactly where you stand and what's at risk.
